At Anchor Learning Center, students are released from campus to study the Bible off-site in our safe, welcoming environment. Our classes build biblical literacy, nurture transformed hearts, and equip teens to live out their faith at school, at home, and in the community.
Classes are privately funded and staffed. No government money or resources are used.
Participation is voluntary and requires written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Students leave school grounds to attend class at our off-site location during the school day.
Released Time Religious Education is fully legal and has been affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court (Zorach v. Clauson, 1952).
Anchor Learning Center exists to make disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:18–20) by teaching the Gospel (Romans 3:23–26) and the whole counsel of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16–17). We focus on foundational biblical literacy (Joshua 1:8) that leads to a transformed heart (Romans 12:1–2), produces lasting fruit (Galatians 5:22–23), and empowers students to serve others in Jesus’ name (1 Peter 4:10–11). Every class points to Christ, for His glory (Ephesians 2:8–10).
Tennessee is one of only a few states offering high-school credit for Released Time Bible Education. Our vision is to equip and resource churches, schools, and families so these classes are available to as many Tennessee students as possible—starting here in Farragut and multiplying across the state. We dream of every student having regular time during the school week to hear, understand, and live the story of Scripture.
Students explore the big story of the Old Testament—from creation to the prophets—seeing how God’s promises unfold and point to Jesus. Emphases include God’s covenant faithfulness, key people and places, and how the line of Israel leads to Christ the Deliverer.
Students trace the life and teachings of Jesus, the birth and growth of the early church, and core Christian beliefs presented in the Epistles. Practical application helps teens follow Jesus in everyday life.
Open to Farragut High School students (grades 11-12)
Classes occur during regular school hours like other classes.
The classes are free for students. The organization is funded by generous donors and partners in the community.
