Sherry Shope, originally from LaFollette, TN was an incorporating member and served for eight years on the Board of Directors of the Campbell County Christian Learning Center, the flagship Released Time Bible Education Program in Tennessee. There, she provided steady servant leadership through the challenging process of launching a program from the ground up and guiding it into a thriving organization. A graduate of Carson-Newman College (Class of 1976), Sherry spent many years in the real estate industry while cultivating her passion for ministry. She discovered her true calling in developing and managing programs that bring Biblical literacy to public high school students—providing elective credit in a devotional setting and shaping the lives of young people through God’s Word. Sherry raised her two children, Carrie Shope Tarwater and Michael Shope, in Farragut schools and at First Baptist Concord, where she is currently a fifth-grade Sunday School teacher. Today, five of her six grandchildren also attend Farragut schools, deepening her ties to the community she has long cherished and faithfully served.
